Negative Ion
About
The human body’s magnetic field is made up of positive and negative ions. Ions are atoms or molecules that have gained or lost an electron- when an ion gains an electron it becomes a negative ion. Negative ions are also known as anions, are found in the air. When negative ions are breathed in, they produce a biochemical reaction that increases levels of serotonin in the body. Seratonin being the fundamental neurotransmitter in all living things- make you feel good, boosting energy levels and vitality.
Benefits
Negative ions are odourless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in natural environments such as the ocean, in mountains, and at waterfalls. The works of negative ions increase serotonin levels in the blood that result in alleviating stress and depression. Due to evolved environments of worsened pollution and increased exposure to electrical equipment like computers and mobile phones with negatively affect our magnetic field, we are in greater exposure to positive ions, also known as “free radicals”. Free radicals create an electrical imbalance in our bodies and are highly reactive- stealing electrons from healthy cells to neutralise their charge- damaging cells. We experience this effect through drained energy, feelings of tiredness and lethargy, and increasing levels of insomnia and depression.
